Here’s my no-fail Gulab Jamun Recipe

Ingredients:

Dough

  • 3 cups of Nido (milk powder)
  • 8 tbsp of Ghee
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder

Chashni (sugar syrup)

  • 4 cups water
  • 6 cups sugar
  • a couple drops of fresh lemon juice
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • a pinch of saffron

Recipe

  1. Mix the water and sugar in a large pot and set it on the stove at medium heat. Heat the mixture until it is slightly sticky
  2. Mix the Nido, Ghee, and milk in a bowl. These are the wet ingredients.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the all purpose flour and baking powder. These are the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until it becomes dough.
  5. Knead the dough thoroughly until it is soft.
  6. Make small balls with the dough and set them aside.
  7. Heat vegetable oil on the stove at medium heat. There should be enough oil for frying the gulab jamun.
  8. Fry the balls in small batches until golden brown, then immediately put them in the Chashni.
  9. Let them soak the Chashni for at least 10 minutes.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
